Polish Mauser Kar 98AZ Carbine or Short Rifle. In good looking condition and is the same design as the German WW1 carbines. Produced from the Polish Radom Arsenals it is a small ring receiver design and features the full length stock with intregal stacking swivel, side mounted sling loops for use with Cavalry, Artillery and other units.

This one is in arsenal refurbished condition with the crest removed from the receiver top, likely exported to the Spanish Civil war in the 1930's as covert assistance. Renumbered during rebuild, the bolt matches the receiver as do the other major components, smaller parts do not. Sound stock and hand guard, with minor dings and compressions. Metal has a matte black finish, quite nice with a correct brite bolt. Chambered in 8mm Mauser the bore has good+ rifling, brite with slight frost. Not import marked but is stamped 8mm on the barrel.

Makes a good rifle for the military collector.
