French Military Mle 1907-15 Berthier rifle. In good looking condition and maker marked from the MAS, Saint Etienne Arsenal in 1925. The standard infantry rifle from before WW1 it has seen use and has a pleasing overall military look. Metal finish is worn blue and the stacking hook is present. Stock has vintage brass repair plates on the wrist and seems sound. Uniquely it is modified to accept the German K98 type sling and the rear swivel removed. Likley captured and issued during WW2 to German 2nd line or local Vichy troops. There are no German markings visable but for a number under the wrist? Chambered in 8mm Lebel the bore has very good rifling with smooth lands and grooves. Not import marked.
