Item #4439 This offering is for the pictured vintage US Spencer Navy Model 1861 Saber Bayonet. In good looking condition, no maker markings visible but typically from Ames Mfg.
For use on the Spencer rifles sold to the Navy during the Civil War. 24.75 inches in overall length with a 20 inch blade. Saber style bayonet, ribbed brass handle with a good steel lock button. Muzzle ring is .875 inches diameter.
Seel blade is a Yatagahn style fullered on each side, frost pitting present.
The leather scabbard is missing as most did not survive the test of time.
Makes a fine display for the military collector. Just this 1 available.
