Mauser Standard Model 1933 Short Rifle. Marker marked from the Mauser Oberndorf Arsenals with a 1934 date and commercial banner logo and proofs.

*** This specific rifle is pictured in Robert W.D Balls book: Military Mauser Rifles of the World, 5th edition page 357 and is from the Ball estate. ***

In Balls book it is offered as an example that was exported to Spain for military use.  Condition is a mix, refinished wood stock set, appears duffle cut under the rear band with an incorrect Argentine M1909 rear band in place. Serial numbers do not match, added rack/inventory number 3782 on the receivers left side. Gew 98 marked trigger guard. Chambered in 7mm Mauser the bore has very good rifling with slightly dark lands and grooves. Not import marked.

It is our opinion that is rifle is a put together of parts, the stock shortened from rifle length and other parts added to the good looking barreled receiver.

Neat item for the collector..
