German Gew98 WW1 Mauser. In nice looking condition, receiver is marked from the Spandau Arsenals in 1917 and is also marked atop the receiver with a star and butt plate marked Crown FA indicating it was assembled at the Dresden Ammunition Factory from arsenal components. A good example the the principal German WW1 rifle.

Receiver is correctly brite with blued remainder metal, shows wear to the sharp edges and is turning a patina. Sound stock and handguard with crisp cartuche. Serial numbers no longer match but for the receiver, stock and front band. Bolt matches itself. Chambered in 8mm Mauser the bore has very good rifling with smooth lands and grooves.

Makes a fine rifle for the military collector.
