German Kar 88 Carbine. In very nice looking condition and a bit uncommon to find. Maker marked from the C G Haenel Suhl Arsenals in 1890 this has all matching serial numbers visible including the screws! These handy carbines were initally made for Cavalry use these saw service into WW1 with other support groups.

Metal has a worn blued finish on the barrel shroud, brite receiver is tuning a patina. Correct turned down bolt with a knurled underside. Fine hardwood stock with sharp Imperial cartouches. Unit marked L.G. 2940 which is for the Prussian Landgendarmerie or police.

Chambered in 8mm M88 Mauser the bore is brite with very good+ rifling, smooth lands slight frost in the grooves. Has not been updated to S bore.

Makes a good fine rifle for the military collector.
