Spanish Mauser Model 1895 Carbine. In good used condition and maker marked from Loewe in Germany, a manufacture that ceased to exist before 1898 and is a sure antique. Marked on the side rail, Model 1893 it follows the basic M93 Rifle designs but officially adopted as the Carbine in 1895 and as such, the Model name.

Produced on military contract this features the 17.5 inch barrel, turned down bolt and side sling swivel for issue with mounted or artillery troops. It is missing the loop below the wrist.

Sound European hardwood stock set, serviceable with a few small dings and compressions from use and long storage. Likely rebuilt over the years the serial numbers no longer match.

Metal has a full blue/black finish with slight patina from age. Faint Spanish crest on the receiver is not readable. Chambered in 7mm Mauser the bore has good rifling with darker grooves. slight frost. Not Import marked.
