Item #3849 This offering is for the pictured lot of Inert Vietnam era BLU-26/B Cluster Bomb, Submunitions or Bomblets. No powder and no primer this was made to be inert trainers from the start.
Filled with an inert epoxy core it cannot be made live. These were used for training safely with these pieces and is painted "inert dummy round blue. There is 1 round complete piece and the lot of broken or partial pieces." 54mm in diameter, 2 1/8 inches.
A bomblet was 1 of 1800 that was contained in the 2000 pound CBU-75 Sadeye cluster bomb. The aluminum casing features aerodynamic vanes and contains 300 iron pellets.
Makes a fine display for the military collector.
