Serial #29 This offering is for the pictured Japanese WW2 Type 38 Training Rifle. In good looking condition. Produced in the Japanese arsenals for training purposes and not maker marked.

This was made from the start to be a training rifle for students or cadets to drill with and fire blank ammunition. Made of cheap steel, stampings and cast iron. Smooth bore for blank ammunition only and not for regular ammunition.

Metal parts are a combination of stamped sheet steel, milled and cast iron, parts to appear similar to a Type 38 rifle. Finish is blued turned a patina. Rougher fit and finish as is typical for these.

Sound wood stock set, similar to a Type 38, typical ding, dents and small cracks from cadet use.

Smooth bore for firing blank 6.5 Japanese ammunition, frosted.

Makes a fine rifle for the military collector.
