Serial #001640913 This offering is for the pictured Japanese WW2 Type 38 Training Rifle. In good looking condition and produced at the Japanese Tokyo Koishikawa arsenals as an infantry rifle and later converted or downgraded for training purposes.

Identified as a trainer by the added 00 before the serial number.

Being a trainer, it shows more use that average as is expected in the hands or cadets. Metal finish is blued with wear to the exposed areas and some patina from storage. 31.25 inch barrel, bolt action repeater, includes the dust cover.

Military crest is removed for the receivers top, trigger guard is slightly proud of the wood.

Sound wood stock set with a pronounced seam on the two-piece butt, added rack number on the right side.

Chambered in 6.5 Japanese the bore has good rifling with frosted lands and darker frosted/rough grooves.

Makes a fine rifle for the military collector.
