Item #4666 This offering is for the pictured WW2 Vickers MG Long Range Sight. In good looking condition and for service on the Vickers water cooled belt fed machine gun adopted by all commonwealth countries.
Officially designated "Foresight, Bar, Deflection, Mark 1" these long range sight assemblies were first adopted at the end of WWI. These 10" bars were attached to the foresight to allow the horizontal movement of the sight to compensate for wind conditions when laying down fire over long ranges.
Comes in the original storage pouch that is WW2 dated inside the flap and appears to be Australian. The sight is faintly marked MA 42 and was 10 inches in overall length.
Makes a fine item for the military collector. |
