Belgian Mauser Model 1889 rifle. In good looking condition for one of these uncommon military rifles, seems most were completely consumed in 2 World Wars and are not seen anywhere.

Maker marked from the Arsenals at Hopkins and Allen Norwich Conn during WW1. It has all matching serial numbers. Stock has a few dings and dents, darker American Walnut with a crack thru the butt plate screw.

Metal finish is a brite barrel turning a plumb patina, trace blue remains on the receiver and magazine. Mechanically fine, the safety appears replaced with and Argentine.

Chambered in 7.65 Mauser the bore is brite with very good rifling, smooth lands and grooves. No cleaning rod is present. Not import marked.

Makes a fine rifle for the military collector.
